On the train back from the Pearl Jam concert at MSG (woooo!), I had the pleasure of overhearing a very loud conversation between two long lost friends, a male and female, maybe early to mid-20s. Actually it wasn’t so much a conversation as it was the guy trying his damnedest to impress her with how he’s spent his time since he last saw her. Bless her heart for being so patient and polite with him.
Guy: The funny thing is I used to be, like, the quintessential jock in high school, but now I play guitar.
Girl: Oh, cool.
Guy: Yeah, I realized I was really good at air guitar so I decided to try the real thing.
Guy: I’ve been listening to these history books on my iPod from like the University of Michigan.
Girl: I can never really sleep on the train.
Guy: Me neither. I get up really early in the morning, and as soon as I get out of bed I’m like “All right, let’s go! I’m ready to go!” I get on the train and listen to my history books. I’ve learned a lot!
Guy: Now I listen to all my books on my iPod. The first one I got was Stephen Colbert’s book about America. That shit is hilarious. I recommended it to all my friends. All my friends on Facebook. And all my roommates on Facebook.

haha I remember riding on the metro north when I lived in New York. I never failed to sit next to some kids from the city or LI carrying on inane conversations.

I learned a lot from your blog. And your profile on Facebook. And also from those lessons you taught me when you were dressed up like a piece of retarded bread.
